How do I apply for employment? 
You may apply using the BJWSA Employment Application which you can download from this website or obtain a copy in-person from our office at 6 Snake Road, Okatie, South Carolina.  If you prefer, you may also submit a resume but you must also provide a completed BJWSA Application that accompanies the resume.

Where do I submit my completed employment application?
Completed applications may be mailed, e-mailed, faxed or personally delivered to the following: Beaufort-Jasper Water & Sewer Authority, Human Resources Department, 6 Snake Road, Okatie, South Carolina 29909 or faxed to 843-987-7573 or e-mailed to DianeT@bjwsa.org.

Should I attach a resume to my employment application?
A resume is usually not required, but it can be helpful. It gives you the opportunity to further detail your education and experience.  But remember, you must submit a completed BJWSA Employment Application with your resume.

Can I submit just my resume or do you require an application to be submitted?
No, you must print out and submit a completed BJWSA Employment Application with your resume.

Do I need to fill out each section of the BJWSA Employment Application?
Yes. The BJWSA Application must be completed in its entirety and be legible.  You cannot reference the application by saying “See Resume”.  Any application that is not completed will not be considered.

How long does the hiring process take?
Some job vacancies may take longer than others, but most are filled within 3-4 weeks of the application deadline.

If I’m not selected for the vacancy, will my application or resume be considered for future vacancies?
To be considered for any future vacancies, you must submit a new BJWSA Employment Application during the timeline found in the announcement.

If a job vacancy is still listed on the BJWSA website but the submission deadline has passed, can I still submit my application?
No, we only accept applications until the deadline.

Can I walk-in, obtain an application, fill it out, and leave it with the Human Resources Department?
Yes, we accept applications for vacant positions only.  You may obtain the application from our Administrative Building located at 6 Snake Road, Okatie, South Carolina during business hours 8:30 am to 5 pm, Monday thru Friday.

Do you only accept applications when there is an advertised vacancy?
Yes. If an application is received when there is not a vacancy, it will not be considered. You must re-apply later when a vacant position is advertised.

What happens if a completed BJWSA Employment Application is not submitted with my resume and cover letter?
Your resume will not be considered. You must submit a completed BJWSA Employment Application with your resume by the deadline for consideration of the vacant position.

How often do you post vacant positions?
That’s hard to answer as we sometimes experience unforeseen circumstances.  It’s best to check our website on a weekly basis.

Does BJWSA conduct a post-offer, pre-employment background checks, physical examination and drug screening?
Yes, for all individuals selected for employment.
