TECHNICAL MAINTENANCE SPECIALIST II

Under limited supervision, assists and performs the mechanical, electrical, plumbing and instrumentation maintenance of all equipment related to the Authority’s water and wastewater system. Troubleshoots and assesses maintenance and repairs, plans, acquires parts, schedules and implements repairs.  Reports to the Technical Maintenance Supervisor.

 Requirements:

  • Requires a high school diploma or equivalent with two years of vocational or technical school training in electrical, mechanical, electronic and instrumentation studies with minimum of five years of experience dealing with the same or an equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a Class “C” Water Distribution license and a Class “C” Wastewater Collection license within two (2) years from hire. Must show progression towards required licensure after one (1) year.
  • Must possess ability to communicate, both orally and in writing and requires computer experience in Microsoft Office Products with the ability to use software used by BJWSA. Must possess or complete BJWSA sponsored training in confined space entry, bloodborne pathogen, hazardous material, first aide/CPR, forklift operations, crane operations, and lockout-tagout within one year from hire.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license, and must possess or obtain a Commercial Driver’s License within one year of hire.

Starting Salary: $19.60 per hour plus excellent benefits package to include S.C. Under limited supervision, provides professional knowledge for project development, design and permitting of all BJWSA Capital Improvement related projects. Coordinates activities to ensure all projects, are designed and permitted in a timely manner. Reports to the Capital Projects Manager.

Requirements:

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree in civil or mechanical engineering or related field and a minimum of one to five years’ experience in engineering related functions and project management, or any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Professional Engineer or Engineer-in-Training license preferred.
  • Must possess experience working with various computer applications and the ability to use BJWSA-specific software.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Starting Salary: $2,277.60 to $2,846.40 bi-weekly (depending on qualifications) plus excellent benefits package to include S.C. INVENTORY & WAREHOUSE OPERATOR

Under limited supervision, assists & coordinates all aspects of warehouse responsibilities including inventory management, ensuring an adequate supply level, cycle counts, meter box assembly logistics and coordinating shipping and receiving activities for various internal customers. Assists the Inventory & Warehouse Supervisor with order placement of all inventory items and does so within the guidelines of departmental policies, procedures and standard warehouse practices. Inputs data, conducts monthly cycle counts and verifies entries with regard to inventory, and assists with maintenance of computer records of all materials.  Provides support to the BJWSA Finance Division, vendors, and co-workers.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma with a minimum two years of experience in a similar position, or an equivalent combination of experience and education required.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Familiar with inventory procedures, storeroom operations, and data entry
  • Proficiency with personal computer, basic office machine operations and ability to work independently.
  • Must maintain BJWSA’s forklift certification annually.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.

 

Starting Salary: $14.99 per hour plus excellent benefits package to include S.C.
