Dale Fire Protection Improvements

Beaufort-Jasper Water and Sewer Authority (BJWSA) and Beaufort County have partnered to improve fire protection in Dale. The $3.6 million project will add fire hydrants along Morgan Road between Trask Parkway and Keans Neck Road. 

Project scope includes:

• A fire hydrant per 1,000 linear feet of water main for a total of 11 new fire hydrants

What you need to know:

• Surveyors will be in the area starting in December;
• Plans have just begun; you will be invited to informational meetings when plan details are available;
• Your insurance rates may be reduced when fire hydrants are placed in service;
• You will not be required to connect to water service or abandon existing wells, but meter and connection fees will be waived during the project for those interested; and
• Construction is expected to begin in late 2025 and be complete by the end of 2026.
