Beaufort-Jasper Water & Sewer Authority (BJWSA) seeks to address disparities and promote an environment where small, minority and woman-owned business (collectively SMWBEs) are afforded every opportunity to fully and fairly participate in the overall procurement process of BJWSA.
BJWSA does not have a certification program for SMWBEs, however we encourage qualifying businesses to become certified with the South Carolina Department of Transportation and/or the South Carolina Division of Small and Minority Business Contracting and Certification. In addition to certifications issued by the above entities BJWSA will recognize certifications issued by any governmental or other public entity in the United States.
BJWSA’s Good Faith Effort Program requires any contractor submitting a bid or proposal that will include subcontractors to document their efforts to include SMWBEs and submit the documentation with its bid/proposal. SMWBEs are encouraged to also reach out to planholders for BJWSA solicitations for potential subcontracting opportunities.
